ROOK & CUBE

Nutzungsbedingungen – Cubetimer

Stand: 25. Oktober 2026

Terms of Use – Cubetimer

Last updated: 25 October 2026

1. Provider and scope

These terms apply to the Cubetimer app. The provider is Rook & Cube GbR, Von-der-Marck-Str. 16, 58511 Lüdenscheid, Germany (see Imprint). By using the app you accept these terms.

2. Services

Cubetimer offers a timer with scrambles and statistics as well as online duels with rating and leaderboard. The app is free and financed by ads; we may offer VIP as a purchase. We may change, add or discontinue features where this is reasonable for you.

3. Use and account

You must be at least 13 years old to use online features. The app automatically creates an anonymous account tied to your device. A recovery code lets you take it to a new device – keep it safe; without it we cannot restore a lost account. Your username must not be offensive, discriminatory or misleading and must not infringe the rights of others; otherwise we may change it.

4. Fair play

In online duels it is forbidden to manipulate times or not stop honestly, to use tools or software for stopping, to use multiple accounts to manipulate ratings, to make arrangements, exploit bugs, manipulate the app, server or network traffic, or to insult or harass others. Knowingly false reports are also forbidden.

In case of violations we may – depending on severity – annul matches, correct the rating, suspend online mode temporarily or permanently or delete the account.

5. VIP

If we offer VIP, it is a one-time purchase through Google Play or the App Store; price and scope are shown before you buy. Purchases, withdrawal and refunds are governed by the store's rules; your statutory rights remain unaffected. VIP is valid as long as we operate the app and cannot be transferred to other accounts.

6. Advertising

The app shows ads, but not during a running solve.

7. Availability

We strive for smooth operation but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of online features. It is best to back up your local solves regularly yourself.

8. Rights to the app

The app, its design and code are protected by copyright. You may only use it privately; copying, decompiling or redistributing is not permitted unless allowed by law.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, for fraudulently concealed defects, for guarantees we have given and under the German Product Liability Act.

In cases of slight negligence we are only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation, i.e. an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise liability for slight negligence is excluded.

For free services we are only liable for intent and gross negligence and in the cases of the first paragraph.

10. Termination and changes

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account (Profile > Delete account). We can terminate the free user agreement with four weeks' notice; the right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected. We announce changes to these terms at least four weeks in advance in the app; if you do not object before they take effect, they are deemed accepted. We point out this consequence in the notice.

11. Dispute resolution and governing law

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If you have a problem, just write to us – we almost always find a solution.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country remain unaffected.

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
